AboutThe Role
Are you a recent graduate ready to start your career in the food industry?
This is your chance to step into your first technical role and grow into a Specification Technologist within a supportive, experienced team. Whether you’ve already gained some industry experience or you’re just starting out, we’ll provide the training and guidance you need to succeed. You’ll play a key role in managing customer and supplier specifications, helping ensure everything we supply meets the highest standards.
WhatYou ll Be Doing
- Customer Documentation Management:
Complete assurance paperwork, manage e-portals, and handle specifications, risk assessments, SAQs and supplier records accurately and on time. - Specification Approval & Set-Up:
Create and validate product information in line with individual customer requirements and technical standards. - Technical Database Oversight:
Maintain accurate records and use system data to respond efficiently to information requests. - Audit Preparation Support:
Assist the team in maintaining compliance and preparing for BRCGS audits. - Performance & Accuracy Focus:
Work towards internal and customer KPIs while delivering a right first time approach. - Regulatory & Supplier Review:
Check supplier specifications against current legislation, labelling rules and company policies to ensure full compliance. - Wider Technical Assistance:
Provide support across the quality and technical function, including certificates of analysis and other documentation.
- Academic Foundation Degree qualified (or equivalent).
- Industry Exposure:
Previous food sector experience is helpful but not essential. - Legislative Awareness:
Understanding of food law and labelling requirements is advantageous. - IT Confidence:
Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in a professional setting. - Food Safety Knowledge: HACCP and Food Safety training would be desirable.
