Location: Mallaig

Camusrory Estate is recruiting a full‑time Stalker, Estate Worker and Boat Crew member to join its small team in one of the most remote and dramatic locations in Britain. Located at the head of a sea loch on the West Coast of Scotland, the estate sits about ten miles from the nearest road and is accessible only by boat from Mallaig.

Covering approximately 3,300 ha and including three Munros, this role offers an opportunity to live and work year‑round in a wild Highland environment as part of a close‑knit team.

Role
  • Support the management of the estate’s deer population, including the annual red deer cull.
  • Assist with stalking operations and larder management.
  • Operate and maintain estate infrastructure, including boats, vehicles, equipment and buildings.
  • Work with the estate fleet, from smaller boats to larger workboats used for transport to and from Mallaig.
  • Assist with general estate work including infrastructure maintenance, power generation systems, and occasional support within the estate lodge.
Working pattern

This is a full‑time position based on the estate. The role involves year‑round work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

What we are looking for
  • At least three years experience as a deer stalker.
  • DSC Level 2 qualification.
  • A current firearms certificate.
  • Strong physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in remote and challenging terrain.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and work across a wide range of estate operations.
  • Experience with boats, machinery or estate equipment is advantageous but training will be provided where required.
