Overview
Find your future with Heartland. The Heartland Vets family is growing, and we are excited to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team. This 12-month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave, offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a true mixed animal practice in the heart of Highland Perthshire.
While our preference is for a Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon, we are also happy to consider applications from Small Animal Vets who feel they would be a great fit. Working across our two branches, you will enjoy the variety and scope of cases that mixed practice brings, with the full support of an experienced and collaborative team.
Working patternFull-time hours are 40 per week Monday - Friday with a 1 in 5 out of hours rota (1 weeknight a week and 1 in 5 weekends) with no additional Saturday mornings and a Day Off in lieu after your weekend on call. A flexible approach to working hours is available; we would consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
About usBoth our branches are stocked with the usual toys including Digital X-ray & Ultrasound. We also have a Ovacyte Faecal Analyser, Stance Analyser, PRP therapy kit, Brand New Bull Fertility testing equipment and Motorised Equine Dental Equipment, among other things. Across both practices we have a strong team of 6 Vets, supported by 3 registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse and a Practice Manager.
We are a close-knit team that enjoy social outings and time together in practice, and have a very friendly client base. Aberfeldy and Pitlochry are a brilliant base to access the Scottish Highlands, offering plenty of local walks, Munros and outdoor water sports such as kayaking and paddle boarding.
Because our people matterWe recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from the following:
