Ren's Rescue
Ren's Rescue is a wildlife hospital and rehabilitation centre based in Keyingham, East Yorkshire. The centre provides treatment to all british wildlife. Volunteers are needed during spring, summer and autumn to help with caring for the animals and all year around to keep the buildings and grounds in good repair.
The main shift is from 8am to 1pm. To start with you will be asked to help weigh, feed and clean the animals and their housing and to ensure the buildings and grounds are kept clean and safe. As you gain more skills and confidence you will have the opportunity to learn to make assessments, help capture wounded or sick animals, administer medicine, take animals to the vets for treatment and more.
All necessary training will be given.
During the height of the season we open to a second shift from 4 - 6 pm.
Please be aware that this is a wildlife rescue and so we handle the animals as little as possible. This is not a place to volunteer if you are hoping to cuddle the animals!
We also have a second site at Winestead where we keep our sheep, pigs and some birds on pre‑release, which we visit at least once a day.
