We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cardiology Nurse to develop their management and leadership skills within Cardiology Outpatients.
The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Cardiology Specialist Nurse role is pivotal in providing clinical leadership, developing your team and service and you will be part of an exciting and developing Divisional team which will support and develop you to achieve your potential.
The post involves working autonomously in the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, pre‑assessment clinics for elective cardiac procedures and nurse‑led cardioversion service. We work closely with the cardiology consultants, cardiac physiologists and the cardiac catheter suite.

Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for providing effective nursing leadership supporting a team of nurses ensuring the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct is at the forefront of the team's nursing care. The position encompasses a clinical role in addition to the management of operational issues and the provision of expert health advice in relation to cardiac nursing.
The post holder will be responsible for the management for nursing practice and patient care delivery within the cardiac outpatient department, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
You will be required to work clinically and will have continuing responsibility for the development of nursing practice within the rapid access chest pain clinics, pre‑assessment clinics for elective cardiac procedures and other nurse‑led services.
The post holder will work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team in the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care, thus improving the patient experience. The post will incorporate the provision of care to patients, their families and carers in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the clinical area.
Additionally, you will demonstrate continuing professional development, reflecting individual needs, the needs of the team, and the needs of the organisation.

Jobresponsibilities
Act as a clinical expert in their area of practice.
Work as an autonomous nurse practitioner, performing nurse‑led clinics (RACPC/PAC), including taking patient history and physical examination.
Order appropriate pathology testing, ECGs, X‑rays and echocardiography.
Demonstrate evidence‑based physical assessment and clinical evaluation skills.
Take part in the elective DC Cardioversion rota.
Be responsible for the management of the RACPCs and the CDC team.
Assess and manage patients within the RACPC using NICE guidance.
Act as an expert resource to assess patients with cardiac conditions; develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Identify risk factors and advise on care and management following referral by agreed protocol. Implement local…
