Treatment Room Nurse who will work independently ,using their own initiative and be accountable for their own professional actions. To undertake all duties in line with the training and instruction provided by the GP's and management at Donagcloney Surgery.
The Treatment Room Nurse will work as part of the primary health care team providing personal medical services to the patients of the practice. To assist medical personnel in the care of the practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. The post holder will be an integral part of the Primary Health Care Team, assessing health needs and providing a high-quality nursing service for the practice population as directed by the General Practitioners.
They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. In order to work at this level, as Treatment Room Nurse you will be responsible for attending to patients who wish to be seen by a health care professional; seeing and advising people in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs.
These patients will have booked appointments at ten-minute intervals. There is a requirement to see extra or emergency patients. As Treatment Room Nurse, you will assist the GP Partners in the care of practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
- Treatment Room nurse ,procedures to include venepuncture, blood pressure checks, urinalysis, injections, height and weight, swabs, ECG's, stitch/clip removal, cervical cytology, wound management, administer adult and childhood vaccinations.
- Work within all relevant practice and Department of Health policies and procedural guidelines.
Liaise with practice manager to order medical supplies and check and record delivery and storage of supplies. - Fridge Temperature log and report cold chain issues as necessary.
To assist General Practitioner with clinical procedures. - To facilitate health promotion programmes and general health issues as required.
Keep up to date professional development.
To maintain all necessary clinical and computerised records. - Adaptability to the changing needs of the service, to be prepared to take on additional duties in order to maintain efficient running of the practice.
- Degree, Diploma or other nursing qualification allowing registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council Current Nursing & Midwifery Council Registration.
- Previous experience in venepuncture and administration of vaccinations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and clinical procedures.
- Smear taker qualification, training can be provided.
Salary: £31,049 per annum pro rata.
