Main duties of the job

The service is GP‑led and open 7 days a week. There are varied opening hours which are site specific with a 24‑hour presence at the co‑located RVI site. Our Nurse Practitioners and Emergency Care Practitioners work independently delivering care for all presenting complaints to all age ranges, both adults and children. They will receive an initial supernumerary period of training followed by ongoing support from the wider team of experienced NP's, ECP's and GPs.

These Band 7 posts are open to Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who can demonstrate their ability to work in an urgent, unscheduled care environment. You will need to have the ability to undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment/referral and discharge of patients with minor illness and minor injuries. A qualification in clinical skills is essential and Non‑Medical Prescribing and the ability to read and interpret X‑Rays would be desirable.

Consideration for a Band 6 role will be given to applicants who are able to demonstrate experience in urgent and/or primary care and a full training and development package will be provided, including access to clinical skills courses. Dependent on experience, the successful candidate will progress to Band 7 upon completion of competencies with a maximum timescale of 2 years.
