- Experience of using System One
Required:
- UK Registered nurse with NMC
- Must be able to relay clinical information and be able to maintain accurate and comprehensive consultation records
- IT Literate
- Able to work in a changing environment and implement change when applicable to provide high-quality health care
- Flexibility of working days/hours
We are offering a permanent post of 10 hours a week to a suitable candidate.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job
Main duties will include but not be limited to;
- Cytology
- Health Promotion
- Wound and ulcer care including removal of sutures and staples
- Day to day management of chronic diseases clinics particularly diabetes, including maintaining disease registers, management of condition, referrals to other members of the primary care team or community team
- Routine immunisations and vaccinations to schedule
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs, bloods via ICE
- Contraception advice including Depo and pill checks
- Administration of injections including B12
- Day to day use of recall systems/processes
- Venepuncture
We are a rural dispensing practice with approximately 3225 patients. We have a lead GP, three salaried GP's, a Practice Manager, a Lead Practice Nurse, a HCA, 3 dispensers and 6 Admin Staff as well as regular locum and bank support staff.
We pride ourselves on being recognised as a surgery who deliver a high calibre of care to our patients, and are proud to have received overall 'Outstanding' status from our latest CQC inspection, and equally as importantly in this years' Annual GP Survey we achieved a score of 99% overall patient satisfaction (rated good or very good).
We are set in a beautiful location with views of Corfe Castle.
Job responsibilitiesAssist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed bysenior nursing staff and GP's
Contribute to infection prevention and control measures
Mentor for newly employed Practice Nurses where appropriate
Cytology
Removal of Sutures
Travel Clinic
ECGs
Venepuncture
Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
Assisting GPs withminor surgery
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Reviews for Diabetes or Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception. Asthma/COPD reviews/Spirometry
-following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
At all times therewill be a need to maintain accurate records
A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
