Location: Fivemiletown

Hours: Monday – Thursday | 6:45am – 4:45pm

Reports to: Aggregates & Facilities Supervisor

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Operating quarry fixed and mobile plant safely and efficiently
  • Operating crushing and washing plant as required
  • Operating quarry shovel and other mobile plant
  • Carrying out daily production and pre-use HSEQ checks
  • Maintaining high housekeeping and cleanliness standards
  • Supporting maintenance activities and assisting during breakdowns
  • Working collaboratively to become proficient across all quarry operations
  • Champion health, safety, and best practices every day

About the role

The following list constitutes the key tasks and duties of your post upon which your job performance will be assessed. Tasks are not in any order; therefore, the sequence which they appear should not be interpreted as indicating priority or relative importance.

  • Ensure compliance with AG Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Policies & Procedures, safe systems of work and legislative requirements. Reporting improvements using AG’s Engage Software
  • Take personal responsibility for safety; ultimately ensuring that you go home safe daily.
  • Ensure that HSEQ risks are eliminated or controlled during all activities, completing production and pre-use HSEQ checks as required.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area, ensuring housekeeping is kept at the required high standard.
  • Ensure product meets the required quality standard, maintain supporting records throughout the production process.
  • Operate Quarry fixed plant in a safe working manner.
  • Operate washing and crushing plant as required.
  • Operate quarry shovel in a safe working manner.
  • Operate other Quarry mobile plant as required.
  • To support the team and become proficient in all aspects of operations.
  • Troubleshooting - utilise resources to respond quickly to conditions.
  • Following the tools of the Lean Management system to drive continuous improvement while being aware of associated costs of production and proactively striving to increase productivity whilst maintaining quality of output.
  • Support maintenance tasks, and help during machine down time and machine repairs, liaise with Site Supervisor regarding preventative and planned maintenance of machinery and help with routine maintenance tasks.
  • Any other duties as required by management that are within your capability.

Required Criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a Quarry environment.
  • Previous experience of operating quarry mobile and fixed plant
  • Previous experience of carrying out fitting tasks.
Desired Criteria
  • Mobile plant licence for digger, shovel or dumper.
  • Welding experience
