Overview
We are recruiting for a well‑established, financially secure manufacturing business operating within the wood‑based production sector. The company holds a strong order book and operates from a modern facility with a close‑knit shop floor team.
The RoleThis is a hands‑on Factory Supervisor role focused on raising and maintaining practical working standards within a small production team. It is a working supervisory role suited to someone who enjoys being on the machines, keeping jobs flowing, setting a professional tone on the shop floor, and ensuring work leaves the factory "right first time".
- Operate and oversee the panel saws and drilling machinery
- Manage workflow across cutting, edging, drilling and finishing processes
- Ensure jobs move through the factory efficiently without unnecessary waiting time
- Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and organisation
- Supervise a small team on the shop floor
- Support safe working practices and consistent use of PPE
- Identify simple, practical ways to keep machines and people productive
The business is keen to reduce standing time around key machinery and improve the order in which work is processed. Experience in sequencing / planning the order of jobs so that machines and people are not left waiting will be highly valued.
About You Essential- Experience in a joinery, carpentry, fitted furniture, cabinetry, panel processing or similar wood‑based manufacturing environment
- Confident operating panel saws and drilling machinery in a production setting
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on capacity much of the time
- Experience working within a small team environment
- A professional approach with the ability to set and uphold clear, practical working standards
- Experience supervising or leading a small workshop team
- Exposure to kitchen, bedroom, fitted furniture, shopfitting or modular interiors manufacturing
- A practical mindset for improving workflow and reducing downtime without over complicating processes

The successful candidate will be supported but expected to take ownership of the shop floor, uphold standards, and ensure work leaves on time and in good order.
Package- Salary in the £35,000 to £39,000 range
- Structured bonus scheme with realistic c. £6,000 annual potential

This role would suit someone currently working as a Workshop Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Senior Joiner, or Lead Operator in a kitchen, bedroom, furniture, or joinery manufacturing environment who is looking for a stable, well‑run operation where they can make a genuine impact.
