On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Skilled Machinist for a 12 months contract based in Barnoldswick.
Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoon and nights).
Job description - the role
As a Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.
As a Skilled CNC Machinist you will be responsible for:
Following technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
Operating a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic.
Interpreting manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
Assessment of whether the quality of components produced meet required standards.
Effective team work to resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan.
Scope to train and work across a variety of machines
Who we are looking for:
Applicants must have a time served advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
Experience with aerospace components would be preferable.
Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
Pro-active, patient, capable of managing time effectively. Next steps
