Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Operations Engineer, Manufacturing Production
We're supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Glossop in their search for a Shift Engineer, following a retirement within the team. The big attraction here, and a key reason engineers stay, is the shift pattern. The role runs on a structured 4 on / 4 off rotation (2 days, 2 nights, then 4 off), offering predictability and regular blocks of time away from site across the year.
For many, it offers a far better balance than a traditional Monday-Friday setup. The hiring manager describes it best: “Many of the engineers have worked the same shift pattern for years, it's a close-knit team, and they really look forward to coming into work; there's plenty of banter, strong support on shift and a real sense of comradery.” It's a stable, well-invested environment where you're trusted to get on with the job, supported by an experienced team and part of a business where people build long-term careers.
