Production Engineer

• This position will suit a dynamic Production Engineer with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
• The successful Production Engineer candidate will have demonstrable experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment

• As Production Engineer you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness
• The role of Production Engineer bridges engineering design and production, ensuring products are manufactured as required and in line with quality standards
• The successful Production Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing production processes and workflows
• Support production teams with technical expertise to resolve process issues
• Provide hands on engineering support to manufacturing daily operations
• Analysis of production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and quality issues
• Implement and drive continuous improvement projects across plant
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOP's and work instructions
• Support new product introductions and process validations
• Troubleshoot process, equipment and material issues in real time
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
• Work closely with cross functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Implement immediate process improvements along with long term improvements

• Experience of small batch production, not continuous production lines.
• Time served toolmaking or engineering based apprenticeship an advantage (must be practical)
• Experience in jig design and manufacture
• Basic CAD and 3D printing, advantage but not essential
• Creative and innovative thinking
• 5+ years' experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
• Experience with process improvement methodologies
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
• Strong problem solving skills and analytical mindset
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, detail oriented and results driven
