Overview
Further to ongoing sustained business growth, we are working closely with one of our manufacturing partners to appoint a Production Engineer to join their team.

- This position will suit a dynamic Production Engineer with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
- The successful Production Engineer candidate will have demonstrable experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment

- As Production Engineer you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness
- The role of Production Engineer bridges engineering design and production, ensuring products are manufactured as required and in line with quality standards
- The successful Production Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing production processes and workflows
- Support production teams with technical expertise to resolve process issues
- Provide hands on engineering support to manufacturing daily operations
- Analysis of production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and quality issues
- Implement and drive continuous improvement projects across plant
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOP's and work instructions
- Support new product introductions and process validations
- Troubleshoot process, equipment and material issues in real time
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality
- Work closely with cross functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
- Implement immediate process improvements along with long term improvements
- Experience of small batch production, not continuous production lines.
- Time served toolmaking or engineering based apprenticeship an advantage (must be practical)
- Experience in jig design and manufacture
- Basic CAD and 3D printing, advantage but not essential
- Creative and innovative thinking
- 5+ years' experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems
- Experience with process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical mindset
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, detail oriented and results driven
