Electrical Assembler (Step-Up / Team Lead Opportunity)

Melsonby | Up to £32,000 DOE

Jackson Hogg is working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Electrical / Electro-Mechanical Assembler who is looking to take a step into a more senior position. This is a predominantly hands-on role, with approximately 60% of your time spent in production carrying out electro-mechanical assembly, and 40% supporting the coordination of a small team. It would suit someone currently operating as a Senior Assembler, Lead Operator or informal Team Lead.

Working closely with the Production Manager, you will act as a key point of contact on shift, helping to ensure production runs safely, efficiently and in line with daily targets.

• 60% Hands-on electrical / electro-mechanical assembly
• 40% Team coordination and support

• Carrying out hands-on electro-mechanical and electrical assembly
• Supporting and guiding a small team of assembly operators
• Allocating daily tasks in line with production plans
• Overseeing build quality, basic testing and visual inspection
• Troubleshooting production issues and escalating where required
• Promoting safe working practices and housekeeping standards
• Supporting training and onboarding of new starters
• Acting as a communication link between operators and management

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an electrical or electro-mechanical assembly environment
• Experience operating as a Senior Assembler, Lead Operator, Line Leader or similar
• Confident working from engineering drawings and build instructions
• Strong practical problem-solving ability
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles desirable
• Comfortable using basic IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• A lead-from-the-front, hands-on approach
