We are currently looking to add to our fantastic team in the Abattoir. Our abattoir team are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work in this area. Skilled or unskilled, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and learn new skills within a great working environment, where you will have the opportunity to rotate around a number of different jobs (after training) and become a multi‑skilled operative.
MainDuties and Responsibilities
- Processing of cattle in accordance with health and safety and animal welfare standards on a variety of positions.
- Contributing as part of one team to ensure that cattle are processed in adherence with Animal Welfare Requirements, Food Safety legislation, and customer specification.
- Keeping work area clean and following all safety regulations and procedures.
- Meeting production goals and working as a team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Performing quality inspections on meat products to ensure they meet established standards.
- Continuously learning and improving knowledge of knife skills and meat processing techniques.
- Ensuring that production deadlines are met and yields are maximised with minimal contamination and wastage.
- Undertaking such duties as required in a safe manner.
- Fully engaging in all aspects of training as required.
- Experienced abattoir operatives.
- Experience of working with a knife.
Ambitious and hard‑working individuals with good communication skills, able to use own initiative and keen and willing to learn. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, chilled environment with flexibility to meet production needs. Previous experience is helpful, but full training is provided. Applicant will be a team player, motivated and enthusiastic with attention to detail relating to quality standards, health and safety conscious.
