About the Role:
We’re looking for a Production & Materials Scheduler to join our team at Vernacare’s Worksop facility. This is a key role within our Materials Control and Procurement department, ensuring that production runs smoothly and customer demand is met efficiently.
You’ll be responsible for planning and scheduling activities for assigned products, balancing production and inventory levels to achieve customer service targets, inventory goals, and optimal capacity utilisation
What You’ll Do:
* Develop and maintain forecasts, master schedules, and procurement plans based on historical data, seasonality, and sales opportunities.
* Create feasible production schedules for finished goods and components, calculating raw material and packaging requirements using MRP methodology.
* Manage and oversee Kanban systems by SKU, ensuring compliance and performance metrics are in place.
* Update and maintain ERP system data accurately.
* Collaborate with sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams to balance supply and demand.
* Act as an escalation point for planning queries and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in monthly S&OP and E&O meetings, overseeing outcomes and actions.
* Analyse inventory levels and product demand to determine reorder points and safety stock levels.
* Review material shortages and propose solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Support resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in production/material planning.
* Strong knowledge of purchasing/materials tools (MRP, inventory analysis, etc.).
* Proficient in Excel for data analysis.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
Desirable:
* Experience with complex planning, forecasting, and product lifecycle programs.
* Knowledge of IFS ERP system.
* APICS or equivalent certification.
