Wrexham - Rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm (Monday to Friday) - £42,000 per annum - Permanent
A well-established and fast-growing manufacturing business based on the Wrexham Industrial Estate is looking for a Maintenance Engineering Technician to join its multi-skilled engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, highly automated production environment where engineering plays a critical role in keeping the factory running efficiently, safely and at high performance.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced packing operation, supporting production through proactive maintenance, fault‑finding, continuous improvement and the introduction of new equipment and processes.
The Role- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Supporting production teams to improve line efficiency and equipment set‑up
- Minimising downtime through fast, effective fault finding
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Completing maintenance records and shift handovers
- Driving continuous improvement and LEAN projects
- Implementing engineering improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Managing and maintaining spare parts stock
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
- At least 3 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Able to work under pressure and manage workload effectively
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
