Manufacturing Manager

Responsibilities:

• Operations & Production: Oversee daily manufacturing, organize workflow, manage daily production, allocate resources, and meet production targets.
• Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce strict health, safety (HSE), and environmental policies; ensure compliance with all relevant standards (e.g., British Standards, AWS, AISC).
• Quality Management: Drive quality control, monitor output, verify production on internal systems and implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop production teams; manage performance, resolve conflicts, and foster a strong work culture.
• Planning & Strategy: Develop production schedules, forecast requirements, analyze data, manage budgets, and implement cost reduction strategies.
• Process Improvement: Optimize processes for efficiency, throughput, and quality, often leveraging lean manufacturing principles.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with other managers (engineering, procurement, sales) for seamless operations.
• Always working to a positive safety culture as well as making sure staff adhere and reflect this in their work

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: Proven experience in steel manufacturing, fabrication, or other manufacturing
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of steel manufacturing techniques such as heat treatment, forging, sawing, casting or melting
• Leadership: Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proven leadership.
• Attributes: Self-starter, results-driven, high energy, strategic thinker, and strong team player.

• Production targets (on-time delivery)
