Manufacturing Operator

Shift Details
  • Constant Night Shift – Mon‑Thu 10 hrs per day, 20:30‑07:00 (40 hrs weekly)
  • Temporary assignment, 6 months with possibility of extension
  • Pay: £12.65 plus 30 % shift allowance = £16.44 per hour

About the Role

My client—a large international manufacturing company—has a vacancy for a Manufacturing Operator in their Peth location. The main function is to carry out the production process by closely following SOPs, work instruction documents, and blueprints or drawings related to assembly, materials handling, equipment operation, and finished goods packaging.

This position requires compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the ability to keep pace in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

The team is dynamic and fast‑paced, relying on teamwork, multitasking, and communication within the team and the larger organization. We are seeking an upbeat individual with strong communication, technical and operational skills to join our team. The role supports daily production schedules and product quality goals.

What Will You Do?
  • Follow Manufacturing SOPs
  • Complete production floor paperwork, including SOP records (weight, time, date packaged)
  • Start, stop, and supervise conveyor speed
  • Assist with equipment validation
  • Read and understand work orders to set up material on the production line and verify counts
  • Inspect material, products, and containers during each production setup
  • Insert or pour product into containers or fill from spout or chute
  • Obtain and sort product
  • Wrap protective material around product
  • Weigh containers and adjust quantity
  • Close and seal containers
  • Label containers, container tags, or products
  • Sort bundles or filled containers
  • Packs special arrangements or selections of product
  • Inspect material, products, and container configurations for each packaging setup
  • Line clearance – reconcile and dispose of materials related to the job
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware, or equipment as needed
  • Follow ISO/cGMP Quality System regulations focusing on SOP completion accuracy, product quality, and housekeeping
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel beneficial
  • Ability to understand and adapt to new schedules and priority changes
  • Team collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to understand written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Prioritise multiple tasks and react appropriately to changing priorities and deadlines
