A leading Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy solutions specialist is seeking an experienced Service & Operations Manager to take full ownership of its Service & Commissioning function across the North West.
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role offering genuine autonomy, commercial influence, and the opportunity to shape and grow a well-established BMS service operation.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, the Service & Operations Manager will be responsible for the performance, profitability and strategic development of the Service & Commissioning department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full day-to-day leadership of the Service & Commissioning function
- Management of multi-disciplinary BMS service, commissioning and projects engineers
- Driving performance across Maintenance, Breakdown, Projects and Commissioning revenue streams
- Full P&L ownership including budgeting, forecasting and margin control
- Delivery of small to medium-sized BMS service projects and retrofit works
- Developing engineers through mentoring, appraisals and structured training plans
- Acting as the senior technical and operational escalation point
- Building long-term relationships with key BMS clients and stakeholders
- Playing an active role in the wider senior management team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced BMS professional with strong operational and commercial leadership skills.
You will ideally demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing 10+ BMS service and commissioning engineers
- Strong technical knowledge of Building Management / Building Energy Management Systems
- Previous responsibility for departmental budgets and P&L
- A commercial mindset with the ability to balance service delivery and profitability
- Excellent communication skills and confident customer-facing ability
- A calm, decisive leadership style within a fast-moving technical environment
