Position: Welcome Manager (Band 2)

We’re looking for someone with a gift for helping everyone to feel welcome to join us as a Welcome Manager at Murlough, or area that people will have heard of, leading our small but vital welcome team.

£13.74 per hour

Contract

Fixed Term Contract until 31-Oct-2026

Hours / working pattern

This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

What you’ll be doing

You and your team will be focused on helping everyone you meet to have their best possible day, whatever it takes.

You’ll be using good judgement and decision making to lead from the front, in line with National Trust guidelines, values and policies.

You’ll regularly act as duty manager for the whole site, with specific responsibilities including safeguarding, cash and tills, fire, security and evacuation. You’ll be the main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in case of emergency, enquiries or complaints.

Who we’re looking for

  • understanding of visitor experience and service leadership
  • ability to support team management and development
  • awareness of commercial considerations and financial performance
  • knowledge of operational delivery and risk management
