Education Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate - Brighton, East Sussex - Hybrid working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate /Senior Associate Private Client Solicitor to join a highly regarded Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Private Client Advisory team based in Brighton, with hybrid working options available. This role offers the chance to work with a collaborative and high-performing team advising high-net-worth individuals and families.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
You will manage a varied and complex caseload, advising families, schools and education-related organisations on a broad range of matters, including:
- SEND Tribunal appeals (primary focus)
- Upper Tribunal appeals
- School exclusions and admissions
- Disability Discrimination Act cases
- Complaints to Local Authorities, LGO and school governing bodies
- Education-related Judicial Reviews
- Safeguarding and education law advice for schools and colleges
- SEN strategy advice and EHCP health checks
- Community Care matters linked to education cases
- Handling both privately and publicly funded work
- Supervising junior colleagues and carrying out file reviews
- Building relationships with key stakeholders to drive new instructions
- Writing and delivering seminars to charities and education organisations
- Producing education law articles and case reviews
About You:
You will have:
- 2-8 years' PQE as a Qualified Solicitor
- Strong expertise in education law, particularly SEND Tribunal work
- Confidence managing a diverse caseload with minimal supervision
- A collaborative, supportive approach to mentoring junior team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive attitude towards business development and networking
