Position: Technical Specialist (Networks/Security)

The Role

This role supports all network and security tooling used across Superdry, contributing to a secure, reliable, and high-performing technology environment. Responsibilities span WiFi management across HQ locations, firewall and VPN administration (including close collaboration with ISPs), cloud-hosted networking within the Google estate, identity management, security patching, asset management, AI tools, and other associated infrastructure as required. You will work within a small team with a wide remit, covering both strategic and hands-on operational tasks.

The ideal candidate enjoys practical, real-world networking challenges and is comfortable operating across a broad technical landscape. You will bring solid experience with enterprise switching and routing, a good understanding of wireless deployments, and confidence managing VPN solutions and certificate life cycles. A working knowledge of firewall rulesets, VMware networking, Linux networking fundamentals, and network-level authentication mechanisms is important.

Technical

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, STP, trunking, and routing protocols such as BGP, with a focus on performance, stability, and optimisation.
  • Practical experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks, with a solid understanding of RF fundamentals and wireless security standards.
  • Confident managing VPN technologies, including site-to-site and remote-access solutions, authentication methods, encryption standards, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of firewall fundamentals, including rule sets, NAT, ACLs, and general network security best practices across common firewall platforms.
  • Experience with certificate management, including SSL/TLS certificates, CSRs, renewals, and secure deployment across network services.
  • Familiarity with VMware networking concepts.
  • Comfortable working with Linux systems, including network configuration, interface management, routing tables and log analysis.
  • Understanding of network authentication mechanisms such as RADIUS, 802.1X.
  • Experience using network monitoring, alerting, and performance tools
  • Proven ability to configure and manage network devices via command-line interfaces, with a structured approach to troubleshooting and incident resolution.
  • Awareness of security patching and vulnerability management practices, including assessing risk, applying updates, and verifying remediation across networked systems.
  • Understanding of security monitoring concepts, including log correlation, alert triage, and working with security tooling to identify and respond to suspicious activity.
  • Familiarity with security best practices for networked environments, including segmentation and hardening
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, operationally critical environments.

In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, the team provides a critical 24/7/365 on-call service on a rota basis (one week in five) to support major, service-impacting incidents. Depending on the nature of the issue, your involvement may range from initial triage through to full resolution. Where an incident relates to an IT system, server, or service, it is likely to fall within the scope of this role.

The role is based at Superdry’s Head Office in Cheltenham. Occasional travel to other offices or stores, including international locations, may be required. We currently operate a Hybrid Working Policy with at least 3 days per week in the office and up to 2 days remote.

You Will
  • Provide a robust 3rd line incident management and support service.
  • Maintain a reliable, secure, and fully functional global systems environment.
  • Work closely with 1st and 2nd line teams to support incident management and resolution activities.
  • Support the Senior Technical Specialists in solution design and implementation, while taking ownership of day-to-day operational responsibilities.
