The role

We are looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Officer to support our Transport team. Working in partnership with Central HR and the HR Operations teams, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering an effective on-site HR function.

You will take ownership of all site HR processes, ensuring full compliance with company policies, customer expectations and employment legislation. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact as a HR Officer by supporting managers and enhancing employee experience through providing an excellent generalist service.

What you will be doing
  • Work closely with the department leadership team to deliver a high-quality, professional HR service across the Transport team, supporting employees at all levels
  • Use key performance indicators to monitor, review, and continuously improve HR service delivery and overall business unit performance
  • Support the continuous improvement of employee engagement across the business unit through the HWDB survey process, including action planning, recognising success and promoting innovative people management processes
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including grievance, disciplinary and performance management practices
  • Work collaboratively with the Transport management team to review workforce requirements and maintain agreed staffing levels through managing the end-to-end recruitment process
  • Coordinate all aspects of occupational health, including referrals, reviews and health surveillance as well as promoting employee wellbeing
  • Support managers in providing appropriate training and development opportunities through coordinating and maintaining training activities and records
  • Assist in performance management processes and future talent development planning
  • Maintain awareness of customer, industry, and HR best practice as well as ensuring site compliance with legal, ethical, and company standards
  • Act as the first HR point of contact for site audits and ensure effective management of the temporary labour agency provider
  • Ensure HR administration is completed accurately and in line with legal and industry standards
  • Provide ad hoc support where required to meet wider business needs
What we want from you
  • Previous experience of working in a HR role at a similar level
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced FMCG industry
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification
  • Strong ability to influence at all levels
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferably hold a degree-level qualification in HR or a related discipline
