Location: Lostwithiel

The Duchy now seeks a People Business Partner to provide practical, people-focused advice that supports organisational objectives and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities- Contributing to the development and delivery of people and culture initiatives aligned with the overall strategy.
- Using workforce insights and data to inform decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Supporting leaders across a broad range of people matters, balancing commercial outcomes with employee experience, and providing coaching and guidance to enable leaders to confidently manage their teams.
- Partnering on performance development processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Supporting employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, and workplace issues, and promoting wellbeing, engagement, and positive workplace behaviours.
- Identifying learning and development needs and supporting capability‑building initiatives.
- Supporting leaders with workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Championing organisational values and supporting initiatives that strengthen culture, inclusion, and employee experience.
- Contributing to engagement activities, surveys, and action planning.
- Ensuring people practices align with employment legislation, organisational policies, and best practice.
- Proven experience in a People Business Partner or advisory role.
- Prior experience of operating in a standalone HR role.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and contemporary people practices.
- Experience supporting operational or frontline leaders in dynamic environments.
- Technology proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and similar platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leadership teams.
- Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal – with the ability to craft sensitive messaging.
- Knowledge of or exposure to retail and/or hospitality environments (desirable).
- Coaching experience and qualifications (desirable).

Contract: Fixed term for 12 months.
