Catering Assistant

Overview

The Catering Department at Withybush General Hospital is recruiting 2 Catering Assistants to join a large team in providing an effective cleaning and catering service. The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team in ensuring the department is cleaned to the highest standard. There is also servery work where the successful candidate will be face to face with visitors, staff and patients in the canteen, serving meals and handling cash and card payments.

The contract is for 2 x 15.0 hour posts, working 5 nights a week from 5pm to 8pm, Monday to Sunday. Hours may vary to reflect the needs of the service. Candidates will receive uniform and full training.

• Work as part of a team to provide cleaning and catering services to the department.
• Ensure the department is cleaned to a high standard.
• Carry out servery duties, serving meals and dealing with cash and card payments in the canteen.
• Follow the hospital’s policies and procedures and uphold the values of Hywel Dda University Health Board at all times.

• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate well with colleagues, staff and visitors.
• Flexibility to work night shifts as required.
• The ability to speak Welsh is desirable;
  English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
• Uniform provided and full training will be given.

• 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
• Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
