Kylesku Lodges is recruiting a Housekeeper to support the delivery of high quality self catering accommodation in a remote and beautiful part of the Highlands, on the NC500.
This is a full time seasonal role suited to someone reliable, organised, and proud of high standards, who enjoys practical work and being part of a small team delivering excellent guest experiences in a unique setting.
The roleAs Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the cleaning, preparation, and turnaround of ten self catering lodges, ensuring each unit is presented to a consistently high standard for arriving guests.
Duties include thorough cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas, making beds to guest requirements, preparing and handling linens, and restocking essential items between stays.
You will manage on site laundry using commercial machines, with larger items sent off site, and pay particular attention to pet friendly units to ensure they are spotless and hygienic.
The role also includes checking external entrances and windows, maintaining cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues or items requiring replacement to the Lodge Manager.
There is no daily service, with housekeeping focused on guest changeover days.
Working patternThis is a full time fixed term position running from 15 March to 31 October 2026.
Hours are flexible, with the busiest days typically Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, and lighter working days during the week.
Weekend work is required, with rotas provided in advance.
Due to the remote location, applicants must have a full UK driving licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle, with a van provided for daily use between lodges.
What we are looking forThis role would suit someone with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high cleaning standards.
You should be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and be reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, though training will be provided.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
What is on offerThe role pays £15 per hour and includes a 5 percent employer contribution to a group auto enrolment pension scheme.
On site accommodation is available, or for local applicants, 50 percent of petrol or diesel costs will be reimbursed at AA rates.
You will be working in a supportive environment as part of The John Muir Trust, contributing to the care and enjoyment of a special Highland location.
