Our Front of House Host role:

Excitingly, your role will be across three key front of house areas:

  • Front desk - a warm arrival awaits at reception where your team will be the constant point of contact for all guests and visitors.
  • Swim Club – our take on a spa, where outdoors meets indoors and beach meets hotel. Your team will ensure it's always ready for our guests’ active relaxation.
  • Beach Lofts – seven beach lofts, each with their own unique character, with private access to the beach and unbroken sea views.

We’re looking for a host who is an attentive, outgoing individual with a can-do attitude to make guests feel at home, from first impression on the phone to final goodbye at the end of their stay. Guests will remember you for underpinning the happiness that shaped their holidays as you showcase the spirit of Watergate Bay with your friendly welcome, effortless charm and seamless efficiency.

Please note this role will be a mixture of shifts working five days out of seven to include weekends and bank holidays.

As our Front of House Host you’ll be:
  • Assisting with all aspects of a guest’s stay, from booking meals and treatments to helping with luggage and dealing with any queries or concerns.
  • Going above and beyond guest expectations to provide a welcoming positive and comfortable experience, whether in person, over the phone or through other forms of communication.
  • Checking guests in and out.
  • Taking room service orders and delivering to guests’ rooms.
  • Spotting when guests might need help and being on hand to offer it.
  • Knowing the hotel inside out and being fluent in all policies, systems and procedures so that any guest query can be addressed the moment it’s made.
  • Lending a sympathetic ear if there are any complaints, recording and handling them if you can, or escalating them to your House Manager.
  • Completing daily tasks quickly and efficiently, as and when they are required.
  • Acting in accordance with Health & Safety laws.
  • Keeping public spaces clean and tidy.
  • Being an active and engaged member of the team and carrying out duties to assist in the smooth running of the hotel, as requested by your line manager.
  • Living and breathing the Watergate Bay Hotel brand.
The skills you’ll be sharing with us:
  • Meticulous attention to detail. Whether it’s pre-arrival, or in house, you’ll notice when a guest needs help with something – sometimes before they do
  • Previous experience of using property management systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of hotel computer systems
  • Adept at prioritising and time management
  • Administrative skills
  • Basic IT skills
It would also be great if you have:
  • Previous Front of House experience (ideally within a hotel environment)
  • A First Aid qualification
  • A current Enhanced DBS
  • Previous Food and Beverage experience
