Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our Powys Physiotherapy service within the North locality (Welshpool base).
Responsibilities- Take a lead role in the assessments and treatment of patients in the musculoskeletal service who may have a complex and/or chronic presentation.
- Determine a clinical diagnosis and develop effective and appropriate treatment plans, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner at all times.
- Act as a source of expertise on the management of musculoskeletal and long‑term conditions and provide advisory service to patients, peers and wider MDT.
- Prioritise referrals on a daily basis.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and training to band 5 Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Technicians, Therapy Support Workers and Students.
- Occasionally deputise for Team Lead when required.
- Support the Team Lead with operational management.
- Educate and advise carers/relatives.
- Provide specialist MSK Physiotherapy to outpatients both face to face and virtually (video & telephone) to a variety of patients with a wide range musculoskeletal clinical needs.
- Contribute to service development, support peers and on occasion lead on particular service development initiatives.
- Provide supervision and teaching to Physiotherapy support workers, students and Band 5 Physiotherapists.
