Veterinary Receptionist

We have an exciting new role available for a full-time Veterinary Receptionist working at New Priory Vets Brighton, Peacehaven and Beech House Vets, Brighton.

Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner are essential. A driving license is preferred but not essential.

Your role will involve:

• To be the first line contact for clients and their pets within our practice and via telephone
• Relay all messages taken accurately & act in a timely manner
• Act courteously and professionally at all times.
• Welcome and register clients on arrival, make appointments.
• Dispense medicines as directed by our vets.
• Take payments and cash up.
• Complete referrals and other administrative tasks

You will come into contact with many specialists and be an essential team player in providing great care and service to our clients.

Our Brighton Clinic is based within our flagship hospital in central Brighton. The clinic provides a comprehensive range of general practice veterinary services, including medicine, surgery, radiography, ultrasound and dentistry, along with the support of nursing clinics – all bolstered by excellent hospital facilities. Patients of our Brighton Clinic can also benefit from the on-site support of Brighton Veterinary Referrals if additional expertise is required.

We are a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 20-minute walk to central Brighton. The area is perfect if you enjoy a mix of vibrant town life with beautiful countryside and outdoor activities on your doorstep.

This is a great location in the vibrant seaside town of Brighton and Hove. With it’s exciting and diverse culture, beautiful beach and seafront and excellent transport links to central London and Gatwick airport, Brighton and the surrounding area is a fantastic place to live.

Our beautiful Peacehaven Clinic delivers advanced general practice services to clients on the coast but clients also benefit from the skill sets and facilities available at the Brighton hospital if required.

Beech House is a small, first-opinion practice in Preston Park, offering general practice to our clients and referral to the Brighton hospital if required.

We consider team wellbeing a priority as well as working together to create a good work-life balance. This enables us to provide excellent and friendly care to our clients, many of whom have been with the practice for several decades.

We have a large, friendly team of Client Care, Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Surgeons, and Animal Care Assistants led by our Clinical Director & Practice Director.

We hope to find an enthusiastic and proactive team member who is passionate about pet health care and experienced in using computers, including Outlook, Word, One Drive & Excel.

This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week (5 x 7.5 shifts) with weekend work on rotation. The main place of work will be New Priory Brighton, with at least 1 shift per week at Peacehaven and cover at Beech House for annual leave and sickness.
