Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Addiction Worker based at Caley Court.

Hours:

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.

37 hours per week, Monday to Sunday.

UK Driving Licence / Car Ownership:

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.

What you will do:
  • Deliver care to individuals with the most complex co‑existing mental health and drug and/or alcohol dependent presentations.
  • Make autonomous decisions with regard to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person‑centred care.
  • Liaise with partner services to ensure integrated care delivery.
  • Assist in the development of new procedures and projects.
  • Provide support and line management to junior staff.
  • Provide health advice, crisis support, and promote recovery.
  • Uphold clinical standards and contribute to service improvement.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
  • A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in a relevant area e.g. health or social care is essential.
  • A postgraduate qualification relating to alcohol and drug use is desirable.
  • Experience of working in the field of addictions is essential.
  • Experience of working in a related community setting is essential.
  • Experience of working in needle exchange services desirable.
  • In‑depth knowledge of addiction‑related theory and practice is essential to undertake comprehensive assessments of needs and incorporate a range of cognitive‑behavioural strategies to enhance lifestyle change.
