NSS PLUS LTD (Neuro Support Services) is a specialist provider dedicated to helping individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) regain independence and improve their quality of life. We are currently seeking professional Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Hull.
The Role
PLEASE NOTE:
THIS ROLE IS A BANK STAFF ROLE, TO BE WORKED AS NEEDED BY THE CLIENT!
Our client, a 32-year-old male with cerebral palsy, is seeking a support worker with experience in all aspects of personal care and peg feeding, must be able to drive, be confident driving a large automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle, and speak clear English.
The client communicates using an AAC device. The client prefers to have a good relationship with ad-hoc agency workers, so that he knows who is coming to support him, and can build a positive working relationship with them built on trust.
Candidates must have experience with hoisting, PEG feeding, and medication management.
Required activities:
* Driving to and from appointments and activities.
* Support with all aspects of personal care.
* Support with completing work responsibilities.
* Light cleaning duties.
* Feeding via mouth and PEG.
* Administering medication.
- Support with socialising and nights out to local events.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:
* UK
Experience:
At least 6 months of UK-based support worker experience (within the last 3 years).
* Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence and access to a car for work use.
* Communication:
Clear, fluent English is essential.
* Status:
Applicants must be willing to work on a self-employed basis.
* CV:
Your CV must clearly highlight your relevant experience and qualifications.
Preferred Candidate Profile
* Experience in Brain Injury (ABI/TBI), stroke, dementia or aphasia is highly advantageous.
* Background in Psychology (Graduates are encouraged to apply) or as a Therapy Assistant, Rehabilitation Support Worker, Healthcare Assistants or Care Worker
* Ability to work on your own initiative while being a key part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
* Strong organizational skills and basic IT literacy (Word/Excel).
