Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Urgent And Emergency Care)South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is recruiting Advanced Practitioners in Urgent and Emergency Care (AP-UEC) to join our Specialist Practitioner team, supporting a 24/7 rota within Wiltshire.
This is a senior, autonomous AP role with a strong clinical focus. Approximately 80% of the working week is clinical, centred on the assessment and management of primary and urgent care presentations typically encountered in Primary Care, Out of Hours and Urgent Treatment Centre settings.
Of this clinical time, around 40% is spent undertaking remote clinical assessment, providing expert decision making support to operational crews and delivering robust remote consultations to ensure patients receive the right care, first time. The remaining 40% is spent deployed on a Rapid Response Vehicle receiving direct clinician referrals, responding to self-identified incidents and attending Category 1 emergencies (including cardiac arrest, maternity emergencies and major trauma).
The remaining 20% of the role supports activity across the remaining pillars of advanced practice, including education and supervision of Specialist Practice teams, clinical audit and research activity, and contribution to clinical guideline development. AP-UECs act as senior clinical leaders, providing advice and support to ambulance staff and volunteers across the service.
This role requires demonstrable autonomous practice within community urgent and emergency care settings.
