Overview
A female PA is needed for an older lady who suffers with mental health issues. This could be a split shift if needs be. There could be extra hours to help cover A/L for the other PA. The PA will assist with all aspects of personal care and accompany the individual to activities and appointments.
Responsibilities- Assist with personal care: feeding, dressing, help with toileting, bathing (bath chair used).
- Cook good meals, do meal prep, and sometimes assist with feeding. Be a good companion.
- Enable the individual to live life she chooses; be energetic and active; accompany to activities (e.g., swimming).
- Provide support during sickness and take her to hospital appointments if needed.
- Help with shopping, visiting service users, and accompanying on holidays several times a year.
- Care for the client’s dog: toileting, walking, feeding times, and overall well-being; confident, firm handling and lots of love.
- Move between settings with good manual handling and adaptability.
- Likes long walks, the dog, swimming, and staying active.
- She loves dogs and needs warmth and affection toward them. The dog is feisty but loved like a child.
- Hobbies include writing; the individual is an author and writes her second book.
- Housekeeping: enjoys a tidy home and routine; prefers slow mornings and late bedtimes.
- Personal care in the morning: showering and help with dressing.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner preparation.
- Accessing the community for walks and shopping.
- Help getting ready for bed.
- Assistance with medications: 3 times a day.
Individual is independent and likes good company. She aims to live life to the maximum. She can be nervous around new people but settles once she knows someone. She likes routine and prefers her house tidy. She is an author and is writing her second book. She likes company but sometimes likes her own space. She pushes herself to achieve goals.
Qualitiesand Language
The PA needs to be kind and understanding, outgoing, and enjoy chatting. Good English is important as the individual has a speech impairment and needs someone who can tune in. Good manual handling is required. The role requires adaptability and an open mind.
Additional Details- The family could be flexible with full hours, if needed.

The individual smokes; PA may smoke while working. - Hours:
16 hours a week.
Advisable if has experience with angry outbursts; the individual can struggle to regulate. A driver is preferred.
