A vacancy for a Band 6 Respiratory Nurse or Respiratory Physiotherapist has arisen within the North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) in South West Essex. The post is part of the Integrated Respiratory Team, which includes nursing staff, specialist physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, senior physiotherapy assistants, and administration staff. Services include the COPD Team, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Home Oxygen Service, Respiratory Virtual Ward, and Breathlessness & Diagnostics service.
Key Responsibilities- Promote effective self‑management of patients and provide professional intervention for community management.
- Deliver a high level of respiratory care to COPD patients and other identified respiratory conditions.
- Perform and/or interpret ABG and CBG results for oxygen therapy assessment and review.
- Support and deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Support the Respiratory Virtual Ward (RVW) to facilitate admission avoidance and early supported discharge.
- Conduct FeNO measurements and ARTP accredited Spirometry for the Breathlessness and Diagnostics service.
- Participate in MDT meetings, teaching, supervision of junior staff and provide peer support.
- Maintain a 7‑day working contract to support service delivery.
- Show flexibility to support service development, including rapid response aspects and continuous improvement of local respiratory care.

Permanent - Working pattern:
Full‑time (Monday‑Friday 9–5, Saturday‑Sunday 9–3 on a 4‑week rotation). - Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (plus HCAS), pro rata for part‑time.
- High Cost Area Supplement: 5% of basic salary (minimum £1,303, maximum £2,198 per annum).

The role operates within a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking respiratory care environment, with in‑house training and opportunities for up‑skilling in nursing and therapy areas. You will work flexibly across South West Essex, traveling to clinic locations and home visits as required.
