Overview
The successful candidate will work as part of the operational finance team to deliver financial advice and support to operational service managers, budget holders and their wider teams. They will support the delivery of monthly financial reporting of management accounts, national finance returns as other ad-hoc financial reports required for operational managers to make decisions.
The successful candidate will also be involved in meeting with budget holders, managers and clinicians to help them understand their financial position and help them to forecast their spend accurately, what is driving any over/underspends and what options are available to them.
They will also work as part of the wider finance team of improvement projects, looking at continuously improving the processes within the finance department as well as delivering training to more junior members of the finance team, whilst also having the opportunity to get involved with HFMA, Future Focused Finance, One NHS Finance and the access to the training these organisation provide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 4 Finance Analyst within the Finance team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust to cover a 12-month secondment.

The post holder will join a Future Focused Finance Level 2 accredited, professional and friendly team that is committed to providing a high standard of service to support our operational colleagues., Employing more than 6,000 people, and hundreds of colleagues and students from other organisations, the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.
Encompassing some of the most picturesque parts of England and Wales, the Trust's catchment stretches from the Cambrian Mountains in the west, to Newport and the fringes of the Black Country in the east.
