Overview
A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHCT Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role is Senior Finance Officer in the Financial Services.
Responsibilities- Ensure all reports are processed with standard operating procedures, and in line with financial timescales.
- Input data into the General Ledger using journals; produce monthly finance reports within strict financial timescales, together with supporting information.
- Support the delivery of key performance indicators for the Team.
- Ensure that information is provided according to statutory return guidelines (SFIs) and expectations.
- Investigate queries from suppliers, staff and customers which could include late or non-payment of invoices, invoice price and goods receipting queries, validity of charges such as fleet parking fines and excess mileage charges; work directly with relevant parties to resolve issues quickly and agree workable solutions.
- Handle some complex calculations, analysis, and reconciliations, including VAT; analyse complex financial queries including the preparation of control accounts reconciliations; prepare VAT returns.
- To input data to and manipulate data within the computerised accounting system; to produce monthly finance reports within strict financial timescales, together with supporting information.
- To undertake specific projects as defined by the Head of Financial Services.
- To support the Head of Financial Services in providing a high quality financial management accounting service.
- To investigate queries and provide advice to the financial services team.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the Trust, engaging, enabling and empowering others, using coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement, and facilitating teamwork across departments and organisational boundaries.
- Support the financial accounting reporting process.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS Trust in the country. This includes leading in innovation and quality with facilities such as the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.
