Management Accountant (Xero Specialist)
Location:
Blyth
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Contract:
Temporary to Permanent
We are a growing organisation seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our team. This is a hands‑on role with full ownership of the Xero accounting platform, playing a key part in delivering high‑quality financial information and supporting strategic decision‑making across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Own, manage and optimise the Xero accounting system, including integrated add‑ons
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes, including detailed variance analysis
- Manage the month‑end close process, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Monitor and analyse costs, providing actionable insight to support operational decision‑making
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Support year‑end processes and liaise with external auditors
- Contribute to ad‑hoc projects, financial modelling, business cases and investment appraisals
- Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes
- Part‑qualified or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or equivalent experience)
- Strong, hands‑on experience using Xero in a management accounting capacity
- Sound understanding of management accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capability
- Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- Experience with in hire, service or project‑based environments
- Exposure to Xero Projects and/or system integrations (e.g. CRM or operational systems)
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
