Senior Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end finance function for a growing and commercially focused organisation based in Birmingham. This is a hands-on role that combines technical financial excellence with strong business partnering, supporting senior stakeholders with insight, analysis, and decision-making.

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting the wider business through high-quality reporting and commercial analysis.

Financial Reporting & Control

• Full ownership of month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts with clear commentary and insights

• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting

• Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with senior stakeholders

• Produce rolling forecasts and cashflow projections

• Track performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities

Business Partnering & Commercial Analysis

• Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior leaders and department heads

• Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions

• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to drive performance and accountability

• Challenge assumptions and provide constructive commercial insight

Process Improvement & Leadership

• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and systems

• Support, mentor, and develop junior members of the finance team (if applicable)

• Contribute to wider finance and business transformation initiatives

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Proven experience in an end-to-end finance role at Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager level

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background

• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis

• Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

• Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment

• Degree in accountancy, economics or business.
