This is a part-time role of approximately 17 hours per week spread over 2-3 days, with flexibility around peak trading periods.
Role PurposeThe Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the commercial and operational success of Blackgang Chine. Responsible for the production of accurate management accounts, cashflow management, and high-quality financial insight, the role supports senior leadership with timely information to aid effective decision-making.
Skills & Experience- This is a hands‑on, commercially focused position suited to a CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified or qualified by experience accountant.
- Proven experience producing management accounts in an SME and experience managing cashflow in a seasonal or customer-facing business is desirable.
- Produce monthly management accounts and provide clear performance commentary.
- Own and review weekly KPI and management information reports.
- Manage cashflow, including weekly forecasts, bank account administration, and payment approvals.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for management approval.
- Act as system owner for core finance systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and effective use across the business.
- Act as main liaison with external accountants for production of yearly accounts and tax returns.
- Provide financial insight to support business decisions and investment cases.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability and cost efficiency across the park’s operations.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to non-finance managers, providing clear and practical financial guidance.
- Attend and contribute to management and departmental meetings.
- Support the review and management of cost centre P&Ls with budget holders.
- Renegotiate key supplier contracts such as Insurance and Utilities.
- Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports.
- Train finance team members on new procedures and policies.
- Oversee payroll processes and provide operational cover when required.
- Ensure knowledge remains up to date with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, local authorities, and stakeholders.
- Support compliance with statutory, financial, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
