What You’ll Be Doing (Year1)
- Attend training at the Academy for Skills and Knowledge in Samlesbury.
- Receive conventional and theoretical engineering training.
- Build foundational knowledge for placement integration.
- Complete office‑based placements utilizing computer‑based tools; interact with customers, suppliers, and aircraft.
- Continue academic studies, including an HNC in Aeronautical Engineering (college, one day a week).
- Finish six placements within the Air business.
- Gain experience in design, systems, in‑service support, flight test, mission systems, integration, and aircraft lifecycle.
- Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Support Technician.
- Level 3 Diploma in Manufacturing Systems Technology.
- Opportunity to pursue accreditation with professional engineering institutions such as the Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering and Technology.
