The Company
A forward-thinking, design-led sustainability engineering consultancy based in Brighton, working at the forefront of low-carbon building design.
This business is known for delivering technically robust, commercially intelligent building performance solutions across residential, commercial, education and mixed-use developments. Their team blends engineering rigour with creative thinking, using digital modelling and simulation tools to influence design from concept through to completion.
With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth plans, they are looking to strengthen their Building Physics capability.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering building performance analysis and compliance modelling across a wide range of projects.
This is a technically focused position, ideal for someone who enjoys using IES to influence real design decisions rather than simply ticking compliance boxes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Part L compliance modelling using IES VE
* Produce SAP/SBEM calculations and energy strategies
* Undertake dynamic thermal modelling (TM52 / TM59 overheating assessments)
* Support planning energy statements and sustainability reports
* Work closely with M&E engineers and architects to optimise building performance
* Contribute to embodied carbon / whole life carbon assessments (desirable)
* Provide input into low-carbon system selection and fabric optimisation
About You
* Experience using IES VE for Part L compliance and thermal modelling
* Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations (Part L, Part O etc.)
* Background in Building Physics, Sustainability Engineering, or Environmental Design
* Ability to interpret architectural and M&E drawings
* Comfortable engaging with design teams and clients
* Passionate about low-carbon design and performance-led engineering
Why Join?
* Progressive consultancy influencing sustainable design at early stages
* Brighton office location with flexible working
* Clear progression pathway into Senior / Associate level
* Exposure to innovative low-energy and net-zero projects
* Collaborative, non-corporate environment
