Setting Out Engineer

The Role

CNX Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a well‑established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a project based in Millport, Scotland. This is a contract role running through to July, with accommodation provided for the duration of the works.

• Setting out for civil engineering works (foundations, drainage, infrastructure, concrete works, etc.)
• Interpreting and working from technical drawings and specifications
• Using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment
• Ensuring works are completed in line with design and quality requirements
• Liaising with site management and subcontractors
• Maintaining accurate site records and as‑built information

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering
• Competent using setting out equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• CSCS card (essential)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently on a busy site

• Competitive hourly/day rate (DOE)
• Contract secured until July
• Accommodation provided
