About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies:
Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
EKFB is seeking to recruit a Senior Safety, Health and Wellbeing Manager to join our team in the Chipping Warden Area. The Senior Safety, Health and Wellbeing Manager will lead and manage all aspects of Safety, Health & Wellbeing for the assigned Delivery Area. The role will engage with the Delivery Team to deliver the EKFB SH&W Strategy and associated programmes at sectional level, ascertain key construction milestones and feed back to the central SH&W function.
It will act as a link between the Delivery Team and the central SH&W function via the Routewide SH&W Manager, ensuring the appropriate completion of Hazard Profiles for the designated Delivery Area and implementing proportionate local assurance measures in line with EKFB requirements. The position will identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement from key performance data and through regular engagement with the local Delivery team.
The Senior Safety, Health and Wellbeing Manager will drive a positive SH&W culture onsite, actively promote and engage with “Making the Right Choice” and wellbeing initiatives, share and promote best practice and investigation findings, and manage and monitor compliance with EKFB SH&W BMS requirements across the Delivery Area. The role will also ensure accurate and timely reporting of all necessary SH&W criteria (including events) for the Delivery Area, perform audits and surveillance activities across EKFB, and engage with the Delivery Area Team to improve the EKFB BMS.
AboutYou
- Holding or working towards a degree (or similar) level qualification in occupational safety and health
- Holding or working towards being a Chartered professional
- Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
- Strong communication and engagement skills
- Strong knowledge and practical application of SH&W in Construction / Civil Engineering
- Demonstrable experience of managing SH&W for subcontracted and self-delivered works
- Experience on major construction projects is essential
- Must hold a valid UK driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
- Must hold a valid CSCS Card (Black, White, White/Yellow)
