Senior Electrical Engineer

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of electrical building services across a range of sectors. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, manage design delivery, and support the development of junior engineers while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead the electrical design on multiple small projects (up to £10m), act as lead engineer on medium-sized projects (up to £50m), or support electrical design on large-scale projects (£50m+).
• Undertake feasibility and viability assessments at early project stages.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed electrical designs in line with client briefs, relevant standards, and regulations.
• Contribute to project implementation planning and resource estimation.
• Manage allocated resources to ensure delivery within agreed internal project budgets.
• Prepare clear and concise written reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Produce and review electrical design drawings using AutoCAD.
• Carry out electrical calculations and modelling as required.
• Attend, lead and chair internal and external project meetings.
• Mentor, review and approve the work of junior electrical engineers.
• Participate in quality control and document management in line with company systems.
• Support internal project management activities, including programme and resource planning.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status achieved or nearing completion with a recognised professional body.
• Proven experience delivering electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and relevant UK standards and regulations.
• Confident communicator with experience working directly with clients and design teams.
• Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.
