Remit:
* An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer to join a dynamic team working closely within the technical design and tooling team, responsible for producing precision components, ensuring quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards.
* The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machinery, with a passion for machining and a keen eye for detail.
* Focus on CAM creation, optimisation of programmes and cutter selection.
Role:
* Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to ensure correct machining processes.
* Work to tight tolerances and inspect finished parts to meet quality control standards.
* Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
* Program CNC machines using Fusion software and load using controllers such as HAAS, HURCO, training will be provided for the Fusion software but prior CNC programming knowledge is required.
* Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining efficiency. Set clamps fixtures and angle plates to effectively hold the parts.
* Work with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, hardened steels, mild steel, and engineering plastics.
* Ensure health & safety regulations and workplace procedures are always followed.
* Keep a clean and tidy work area.
* Work within 12 strong technical design and tooling environment.
Experience Requirements:
* Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, primarily on CNC milling machines; experience with CNC turning is an advantage.
* Prior CAM programming experience;
Fusion desirable (training provided).
* Familiar with HAAS, HURCO, or similar machines.
* Confident reading engineering drawings and specifications.
* Proven ability to work to tight tolerances and inspect parts accurately.
* Strong focus on health & safety and workshop standards.
* Experience in a precision engineering or tooling environment.
