Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our w ater and wastewater capital project delivery team .  Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

You'll ensure sites are compliant with company procedures, client expectations, and legislative requirements, with a strong focus on continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance. Support the consistent implementation of SHE standards, promote CDM regulation awareness, and foster SHE skill development across operational and engineering teams. Including delivering coaching, training, and inductions, supporting project mobilisation, and leading well-being campaigns. Identify training needs, conduct competency assessments, and assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and serious case reviews.

Through proactive engagement and encourage SHE observation reporting and maintain a visible presence on-site, including out-of-hours visits.

What you’ll bring

Understanding of SHE related legislation and related codes of practice and it’s application in construction.

Experience in SHE practices for large scale construction projects including complex design and MEICA

Experience of Business Management Systems relevant contract and client procedures

Ability to conduct audit, identify and address Non Conformance, recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives, co-ordinate to ensure their implementation

Ability to conduct and inspections.

Training (Knowledge) Required

NEBOSH Diploma, Relevant degree or equivalent NVQ level qualification

IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent

ISO Internal auditor 9001

Valid UK driving license
