The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a proven and driven EHS Coordinator to join a well‑established and well‑respected client in the chemical manufacturing industry. As the EHS Coordinator, you will liaise with key stakeholders on site to ensure the site runs optimally, while ensuring high safety standards. The client promotes positive career development opportunities to support in securing certifications, training and internal mobility.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the effective implementation of the ISO 14001 & 45001 management systems.
- Carry out routine and improvement activities in the areas of EHS KPI and target data collection, handling and reporting.
- Implement and maintain procedures for reporting and investigating EHS deviations (incidents, injuries, risks, etc.) – incident reporting, trend analysis, action planning and site feedback.
- Chair weekly EHS Review meetings.
- Facilitate the review of task risk assessments & COSHH assessments.
- Arrange and accompany routine inspections by approved external suppliers, e.g. fire extinguisher checks, LEV inspections, noise surveys, DSE assessments, legionella assessments, asbestos surveys.
- Maintain document control and routine reviews of EHS documentation.
- Assist with EHSQ training on site.
- Develop training courses by researching materials and deliver training via Rapid Global, Safetyhub or directly.
- Carry out site inspections of the site and waste storage areas, identifying unsafe acts & conditions then determining recommendations for improvement.
- Assist the EHSQ Manager in advising and training teams with respect to regulatory compliance.
- Assist in general administration duties within the business, as agreed between EHSQ Manager and other departments.
- Manage the requirements of the conditions of the site permits.
- Assist the EHS Manager in the objectives of the EHSQ Policy at Warrington Site.
- Assure that the activities are carried out in accordance with Warrington SHEQ Management System.
- Recognised qualification to degree level or similar, ideally in a technical or environmental discipline.
- Professional qualification in environmental, e.g. IEMA General Certificate.
- Previous experience in a chemical or process industries manufacturing plant.
- Good oral and written communication skills, confident, assertive, and the ability to work with personnel at all levels.
- Competent in computer programmes such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience on a Lower or Upper Tier COMAH site.
The setting for this role involves risks and hazards typical of a chemical site, including chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals and confined spaces. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
