Senior​/Principal Environmental Advisor

The Opportunity

Stantec’s Environmental Team is working closely with our water clients to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions by applying genuinely new ways of working. We are seeking driven individuals who think differently and love to challenge conventional thinking to join our growing, collaborative team of consultants. We are currently looking for a Senior or Principal Environmental Advisor/Scientist, open to talents from any UK office and willing to consider part‑time arrangements for the right candidate.

This role offers ample scope for career progression in a rapidly expanding team.

You will be involved in supporting and assisting in the delivery of client and project environmental objectives and targets. Primarily, you will assist the EIA and environmental management teams by conducting environmental planning reports, EIA screening and scoping, as well as environmental management studies and audits. You will also advise our clients on environmental and sustainability issues.

Ideally, you hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Science, or Environmental Planning that is accredited by the relevant professional body (CIWEM, IEMA, or RTPI). You should be Chartered or be applying in the next six months. You must demonstrate client‑focused advisory experience, providing robust advice on routes to consent, critical environmental risks and opportunities, EIA, environmental management studies, and audits.

Experience in analysing and presenting data using GIS is required. General knowledge of ecology, flood risk, town planning, and water resources would be beneficial.
