Principal Civil Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer to join an environmentally focused multi disciplinary consultancy in Manchester as they strengthen and grow their civil engineering capability. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will take technical ownership of drainage design, flood risk assessments, SuDS strategies and civil engineering inputs across a mix of development and regeneration projects. You will lead project delivery, manage quality and mentor junior engineers while working closely with environmental, planning and water specialists across the business.

• Lead drainage design, SuDS strategies and Flood Risk Assessments for a variety of development projects.

• Manage project delivery, quality, budgets and client relationships.

• Oversee the preparation of technical reports, calculations and detailed design outputs.

• Guide and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.

• Coordinate with multi disciplinary teams and support collaborative design development.

• Contribute to the expansion of the civil engineering capability within the Manchester office.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

• Significant experience in drainage design, SuDS and flood risk assessments.

• Skilled with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Micro Drainage or similar tools.

• Strong communication skills and confidence in client facing environments.

• Chartered or working towards chartership.
